Pregnancy can be one of the most beautiful, exciting, euphoric times in a woman’s life.  It can also be one of the most challenging.  Like most things in life, women experience pregnancy and motherhood in different ways.  Every woman’s pregnancy is unique and each stage of pregnancy presents it’s own challenges.

A woman’s physical body undergoes an incredible transformation during pregnancy.  The ways in which she is able to adapt are amazing.  But these adjustments are not always easy.  While some women may only experience minor discomfort, others may be embarking on a much more challenging journey.

Therapeutic massage is an excellent source of support, relief and relaxation during pregnancy and beyond.  Not only does massage help to relieve physical pain and strain.  Skilled, nurturing touch can also be a vital component of a woman’s support system, helping her to understand and assimilate the vastly changing dynamics during this exciting time of her life.  Massage can help to create an easy, healthy pregnancy, and a confident, comfortable mother-to-be.

Client Safety

Comfort and safety of mother, and safety of child, are of utmost concern when working with pregnant clients.  During your first appointment, a complete health history will be taken discussing your overall health as well as how your pregnancy is progressing.  If you have had any complications, conditions, or high risk factors during this or any previous pregnancies, please be sure to discuss your condition with your maternity healthcare provider, as well as with us at the time of scheduling, to ensure that receiving massage is safe for both you and your baby.

Our therapists have completed comprehensive training specifically focused on massage during and following pregnancy.  Our training includes detailed information on the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, labor and birth, with emphasis on contraindications for therapeutic massage during normal and complicated pregnancies.  Learning to recognize signs of complications was an important component of training.  We are fully committed to safely nurturing both you and your baby.  Please feel free to contact us either by phone or email with any questions or concerns you may have.

We look forward to working with you!
